STEMcx summer internship places 48 URM high school students in eight-week paid summer experiences working directly with educators, companies, and community organizations in STEM areas. We just completed a successful fifth summer and has now grown from one cohort in 2021 to six cohorts.

Subject areas are: Coding and Cybersecurity, Environmental Justice. Architecture, Healthcare, Space Exploration and Real World Engineering. In addition, students across the program travel by charter bus to North Carolina for one week and stay on the campus of North Carolina State University.  

All students that complete the program receive a stipend of $2,400 at the closing ceremony. During the closing ceremony students present their final projects or academic posters to an audience of community and business members, family and friends, and their mentors.
